SUBJ: 2012 COAST GUARD CULINARY TEAM (CGCT)  

1. THIS MESSAGE SOLICITS MEMBERS INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING
ON THE CGCT.  THE TEAM WILL REPRESENT THE COAST GUARD IN
THE LARGEST CULINARY COMPETITION IN NORTH AMERICA AT THE
ARMY QUARTERMASTER SCHOOL, JOINT CULINARY CENTER OF
EXCELLENCE IN FORT LEE, VIRGINIA. THE TEAM WILL PARTICIPATE IN
14 DAYS OF COMPETITION THAT WILL INCLUDE INTENSE ADVANCED
CULINARY TRAINING. THIS COMPETITION PROVIDES A UNIQUE
OPPORTUNITY FOR FOOD SERVICE PERSONNEL TO SHOWCASE
THEIR INDIVIDUAL TALENTS AND ABILITY TO WORK AS A TEAM.  
SIXTEEN MEMBERS WILL BE SELECTED, INCLUDING ONE TEAM
CAPTAIN AND ONE TEAM MANAGER. THE TEAM CAPTAIN WILL
SUPERVISE ALL CULINARY KITCHEN PRODUCTION AND THE TEAM
MANAGER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS AND
OVERSIGHT OF THE CGCT.
